Recovering from
a Bad Upgrade of FVX538 and FVS338 Routers
In the event that an upgrade fails, you can
recover an FVX538 or an FVS338 router using a
serial cable connection. In addition, if a
browser-based upgrade method is unreliable, you
can use TFTP to load the new firmware image.

This
application note describes how to configure
multi-NAT to support multiple public IP
addresses on one WAN interface of a NETGEAR
FVX538 or FVS338 ProSafe VPN firewall. This
application note is updated for version 2.x
router firmware. The older version of this
application note describes the procedure using
version 1.x firmware.
By creating an inbound rule, you can configure
the firewall to host an additional public IP
address and associate this address with a Web
server on the LAN. You can do this for many
additional IP addresses by creating an
individual rule for each one. |
